A Sector Divided

What's old is New
Some of our crew encounter a mysterious temple

After the crew had recovered from the fight with the Pirates they decided to split up and take two jobs after a tense interview with Garlish Honglu.

One group agrees to take the original contract and deliver the mysterious vases, or at least the one remaining, to a University of Darkmore Research site on the planet (INSERT NAME HERE). The other group agreed to provide an escort for the Traders Union to pick up some plaster turrets for the refueling station B1-342.

just as both groups were getting ready to leave several members suddenly came down with stomach pains and were forced to remain behind in the refresher.

Group One took a YT-1300 freighter left behind by the pirates as their ship. during the flight, they discovered a heavily encrypted computer that they were unable to slice it effectively. Upon arrival at the planet, the crew was met with a frosty welcome as their ship still carried the logo of the Pirates, a blue fist made of tentacles surrounded by a circle. After sorting that out they discovered that the Vases were actually a data storage device for some ancient civilisation, and that the university was seeking to get the computers running in the temple to try and unlock the data within. But, they had hit a snag as a mysterious beast or beasts had infiltrated the abandoned temple and were attacking researchers.

The crew agreed to clear the temple, in exchange for help slicing the mystery computer. After a brief exploration where they triggered a pit trap Samrrrr went into a Wookie rage at the sound of a mysterious beast and charged after it. It ambushed him but as it ran he identified it as a Nexu.

Continuing their exploring they discovered that a pride of Nexu had infiltrated the temple, killing one they detonated a Thermal detonator to clear some rubble and discovered the rest of the pride. After a brief but vicious fire fight, they were able to clear the temple just before University security forces arrived to "help out".

As per their agreement, the university staff helped them slice the computer and the crew discovered some information that would help several factions in dealing with the Pirates in the sector. In particular, they discovered two names, "The Squid" and "Jarpo" are heavily involved in the pirate group.

Meanwhile the other crew arrived on the junkworld (INSERT NAME HERE) where they met with some salvagers who had arranged the sale of a Correllian Corvette Turbolaser battery to the Traders Union. Upon meeting the salvagers the crew was attacked by some of the pirates seeking revenge for thwarting the raid on the refueling station. Whilst seeing them off, they also had to find the hidden control unit for the turbolaser battery. Several more conflicts ensued before the crew could leave the planet, but they were ultimately successful and now B1-342 might be able to hold its own if pirates come again.

What now for our intrepid crew, what happened to those who were sick? Will they chase down the Pirates or do they have other jobs available to them? tune in next time to find out.

Refuelling and Resupply Station B1-342

Hit the Landing Bay Running
Our party arrives in the Decensor sector and is immediately thrust into the action

After successfully completing their previous job for Slussk, the party is rewarded with a recommendation and job offer with the Decensor Sector Traders Union.

Their expenses paid the party travels on board the rickety wreck of a GR-75 Medium Transport The Wobbly Mynock, to meet their contact with the Union on board Traders Union Refueling and Resupply Station B1-342. Expecting nothing The Mynock dropped out of hyperspace to immediately find themselves under attack by a dark blue Correllian Corvette. Taking significant damage the party are forced to abandon ship in the escape pods.

The parties escape pods "land" in the main hanger of the space station and are immediately under attack by pirates who are raiding the station. A brief firefight ensues, with the party taking out the pirates in short order and getting in contact with the survivors of the space station crew, who are locked up in the command center with no power and their blast door being attacked by pirates. The station master, Garlish Honglu, who enlist the party to help get the generator up and running so that they could call for support from the Imperial Navy and clear out the pirates attacking the station.

The party succeeded in both tasks, taking some serious damage to their most vulnerable team members in the process. Fighting their way through three levels of the space station the party discovered that the pirates are part of a crew who were a logo made of crimson tentacles wrapped in a fist on a field of dark blue and that their original job may be in jeopardy as it is not known if the ancient relics they were to ship survived the pirate raid.

The fighting culminated in the leader of the raid forcing the party into a full frontal assault by calling the Corvette to threaten the space station. In a brief but aggressive firefight, the party took out the raid leader and 5 of the 6 of his goons. The final pirate terrified by the skill of the party surrendered but was shot down by his own leader who used his dying breaths to shoot the traitor. At this point, two imperial corvettes arrived and the pirate corvette jumped into hyperspace taking The Mynock with it.

In the aftermath of the fight, the party received a 1000 credit reward from the Imperials for defending the station. It was also discovered that the Pirate crew got into the station by docking with an external port and sneaking in, disabling the power generator. Once power was down, and help couldn't be summoned, the Pirate Corvette arrived and disgorged pirates to take the base and eliminate survivors.

Having fought so quickly and bravely the Pirates couldn't recover their transport, still docked with the external port and so the traders union, as thanks for their assistance gave the transport ship over to the party and granted them free docking space and accommodation on the station.

The crew has a ship, a base of operations and have established themselves as capable people in the eyes of the Empire and the Traders Union. Where will they go from here?

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
